At the same time, 2.7 billion was distributed to rights holders, the organization says in a press release.
According to STIM, the development is driven by a strong year for live music and more data-driven methods in licensing and pricing. International revenues also increased, and Sweden is a major exporter of music.
"Rapid technological development is challenging the entire music industry. In 2025, we launched the world's first AI license for music, which shows that innovation and copyright can go hand in hand," says STIM CEO Fredrik Tumegård.
