Last week, she made a strong contribution to Frölunda winning the SM gold in ice hockey. A few days later, goalkeeper Stephany Neatby received the message that she would not be allowed to stay with the Gothenburg club.
I would have done anything to stay, says the Canadian to Göteborgs-Posten.
Neatby saved over 97 percent of the shots in the final series against Luleå and had over 93 percent in total save percentage for the season. But it wasn't enough to stay with the Gothenburg club.
It had nothing to do with me – the club had chosen a different direction. And it's sad, she says.
Neatby hopes to find a new club in Sweden.
Hopefully, there's a team that wants me! I'll try to study on the side as well.
