I want everyone to know that I really wanted to stay. It was a really sad meeting I had with Frölunda. There was no real reason, it had nothing to do with me – but the club had chosen a different direction. And it's sad, said Stephanie Neatby at the end of March to Göteborgs-Posten.

She talked to the newspaper about a week after Frölunda won the SM final series with 3–0 in matches against the reigning champion team Luleå.

I've had a few days to cry, get out all the strong emotions. Now I feel like I can talk about it, she said.

Now her career continues in the Swedish top league, but in HV71.

"I've always enjoyed playing here in Jönköping and it's going to be incredibly fun to be part of HV71", says the 26-year-old in a press release.

HV71 finished second to last in the regular season, but saved the SDHL contract through a successful qualifying game against Södertälje.
