Swedish-British racing driver Arvid Lindblad, 18, will drive for Red Bull's sister team Racing Bulls next year. Since I started this journey as a five-year-old, my goal has always been to reach Formula 1, so it's a proud moment that I can now take this step, Lindblad tells Aftonbladet.

Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian origin but was born in the UK, has impressed this year with two wins in Formula 2. He also got the chance to drive for Red Bull during the first Friday practice in Formula 1.

Soon there will be more for the talent who has both Swedish and British citizenship. He will become the first driver with a Swedish citizenship to compete in F1 since Marcus Ericsson in 2018, but he will compete with a British license.

2026 will be a big challenge and I know there is a lot to learn, but I am ready to work closely with the team and embrace it, he says.

Lindblad gets Liam Lawson as a teammate.

He becomes the only newcomer to the team as he takes over from Frenchman Isack Hadjar, who moves up to Red Bull's A-team, where he becomes second driver behind Max Verstappen.

Hadjar finished third in the Dutch GP, becoming the fifth youngest driver ever to step onto the podium.

For multiple world champion Verstappen, the partnership with Hadjar means he forms a team with a fourth driver in just one year.

Sergio Perez, Liam Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda have all passed through the stable since the end of last year.
