The group, which includes, among other things, Chrysler, Fiat and Jeep, states that it will, among other things, reopen a closed factory in the city of Belvidere in the state of Illinois. The purpose is to broaden the production of the Jeep models Cherokee and Compass, starting in 2027.
Stellantis also states that factories in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana will be expanded.
In total, the plans are expected to create around 5,000 jobs.
