The National Museum has asked visitors whom they would most like to see in a new portrait in the collection, and out of 22 candidates, Skarsgård received the most votes.
The portrait, by German-born photographer Martin Schoeller, was taken in 2015. It will be shown in the exhibition "Portraits" at the Nationalmuseum.
