The company announced on Friday that Stefano Gabbana, 63, is stepping down as chairman of the board. It had been announced at the beginning of the year that he would be leaving the Italian fashion company.
The new chairman of the board will be Alfonso Dolce, the brother of co-founder Domenico Dolce and the company's current CEO.
Dolce & Gabbana was founded in 1985.
