Harness racing trainer Stefan Hultman has passed away, according to the website Trottosport, which has spoken to the family. He was 61 years old.
Hultman, who won both the Prix d'Amerique and Elitloppet, was forced to end his successful career when he became seriously ill with diabetes, a neuromuscular disease and neuropathy, which affects the nervous system.
His most famous horse was Maharaja, with which he won the Prix d'Amerique in 2014.
