Unemployment in July remained at 8.7 percent of the labour force, unchanged from the previous months, according to seasonally adjusted and trend values. The employment rate was also unchanged, at 69.3 percent of the population, compared with June and May, but it has increased compared with July last year.
"The number of temporary employees is increasing in July, mainly among young people. In addition, we see that both employment and the number of employees are increasing, seasonally adjusted and smoothed," says Åsa Zakrisson, statistician at the Labour Force Surveys at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.
