"However, the increase (in the economic standard) is not enough to reach the same level as the peak year of 2021, since the economic standard fell in both 2022 and 2023 as a result of high inflation," says Peter Gärdqvist at Statistics Sweden in a press release.
In recent years, income inequality has increased.
"It is mainly rising capital income that has driven the trend toward increased income inequality in recent years," says Peter Gärdqvist.
The economic standard is disposable income taking into account the size and composition of the household.
