The state's payments resulted in a deficit of 42.2 billion kronor in April, according to a press release from the Riksgälden.
This was significantly more than the forecast of 27.7 billion.
"The difference is mainly due to lower tax revenues and higher net lending to authorities", writes the Riksgälden.
For the 12-month period that ended in April, the deficit in the state's payments amounted to 108.5 billion, according to the Riksgälden.
The national debt amounted to 1,177.6 billion kronor at the end of April, according to the authority.
