Greece's government has declared a state of emergency on Santorini since hundreds of smaller tremors in the sea have hit the island for nearly a week.
The decision will give authorities faster access to state resources, following a tremor late on Wednesday that had a magnitude of 5.2.
The fire department, police, coast guard, armed forces, and emergency medical services have immediately reinforced Santorini and surrounding islands with additional personnel and special equipment, says Pavlos Marinakis, government spokesperson.
Despite the tremors causing minimal damage, they have led to thousands of residents and seasonal workers leaving.
