The reigning Olympic champion has had long-term injury problems. She badly injured one knee when she fell in the slalom competition on home ground in Jasna exactly a year ago, on January 20, 2024.
The plan was for her to have made a comeback before Christmas, but her knee has not been able to withstand competition.
Now the injury is on the mend.
Petra's rehabilitation finally seems to be going in the right direction and it's getting better every day. Unfortunately, the setbacks in December and January will affect the World Championship, says Pini.
Now a new chapter begins for Petra, where the focus is on the Olympic Games in Cortina 2026.
Besides the Olympic gold in slalom in Beijing 2022, Petra Vlhova won the World Cup in the 2020-2021 season and has won six World Championship medals, including a gold in giant slalom in Åre 2019.
