The 33-year-old Brazilian winger Douglas Costa takes a step over the oceans, from Fluminense in his home country to Sydney FC in Australia's top league.
I'm coming to Australia to raise the status of football in the country, give fans value and win trophies for the club, says Costa in a statement.
Costa has played for the national team and won titles with Shaktar Donetsk in Ukraine, with Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo in Italy, and with Bayern München in Germany.
