Two of Sweden's greatest international actors play the lead roles in "We Come in Peace", TV4's series where science fiction meets political thriller.
One day, a large extraterrestrial phenomenon suddenly appears in the skies above Stockholm. Panic is imminent, but politicians immediately begin arguing about how to respond to the threat.
Should the military intervene or wait? Should Sweden act alone or seek help from the United States, whose warships are beginning to approach Swedish waters? Should Stockholm be evacuated? A large part of the action takes place in the government office's meeting room, where the Prime Minister (Agnes Rase) quickly comes on a collision course with the Foreign Minister (Suzanne Reuter).

Fares Fares' character is a central figure, as head of the Civil Defense Authority.
All different parties and politicians have their own agendas and what they believe in and what they don't believe in. Are the aliens dangerous, or not dangerous? Will they come in peace or not? What should the Prime Minister do, explains Evin Ahmad.
She plays an unemployed microbiologist who suddenly thinks she discovers a connection between the extraterrestrial phenomenon and strange fungi found on Earth.
“Crap fun”
For Fares Fares, it was also a bonus to work with Evin Ahmad for the first time.
"It was a blast working with Evin. We have really good chemistry and it was a positive surprise that she was on board. But I noticed when we were doing the test filming that we worked really well together," he says.
Fares Fares will soon also be featured in the new film "Eagles of the Republic". Evin Ahmad has had several major international roles in recent years, not least in the Netflix hit "Who is Erin Carter?" and in the film "Den of Thieves: Pantera". She is happy to be able to be part of such a major venture at home, in a genre that is unusual in Swedish film and television.
"I think it's great that you dare to take the plunge. For me, that was a big reason, in addition to the script, why I said yes to this. I think it's really brave that we can show that we can take on this genre, that we can do these stories and do it really well," she says.
"We Come in Peace" premieres behind a paywall on TV4 Play on November 6th and comes to TV4 a week later.
The six-part series is created by screenwriter Lars Lundström, who previously made the TV series “Äkta människor”. He has also written the scripts for “Tusenbröder” and “Pistvakt”.
