Stanley Cup winner Alexander Steen strengthens Tre Kronor's leadership team ahead of the winter's Olympic Games. The former NHL star will work with scouting and team selection, but he will not be on site in Milan.

Recently, the message came that the national team's assistant general manager Patric Hörnqvist is leaving his assignment.

Now, another former NHL player is being brought in. Alexander Steen will serve as a special advisor to the Olympic Games staff, but he will not be on site in Milan when the tournament is decided in February.

Steen won the Stanley Cup with St Louis in 2019 and was involved when it became a blue and yellow Olympic Games silver in 2014. The 41-year-old is currently part of the American NHL club's management team.

"That Alex is on site in North America, in the role he has in the St Louis Blues organization, will be valuable. He follows our Swedish players daily", says national team captain Sam Hallam in a press release.

Three Crowns play Olympic Games premiere on February 11 against the host nation Italy and also have Finland and Slovakia in their group.
