The Dynamo Scholarship is awarded to Ställbergs Gruva’s artistic directors Anja Bergdahl, Karin Linderoth and Eric Sjögren, and one of its founders, Carl-Oscar Sjögren.

“Together, they create an important place where forms of artistic work are constantly allowed to be renewed and renegotiated,” the jury writes in its citation.

Ställbergs mine is located in Ljusnarsberg municipality (a local government area) in Bergslagen and is run by the organization The Non Existent Center. Mining operations ceased in 1977, and the site reopened as an arts and culture center in 2012.

The Visual Arts Foundation’s Dynamo Scholarships recognize people who have taken the initiative to create new spaces for contemporary visual and applied arts.
