Ståhl won the competition with his only valid throw, which came in the second round. Ståhl's previous best for the year was 69.01.
"It's starting to explode in my body," he says, comparing himself to a car.
"Now I'm going to polish the paint on the car and it'll be fine," says Ståhl.
Australian Matthew Denny, who came to the Bauhaus Gala with a year's best of 74.04, finished second with 69.02.
Ståhl withdrew from the competition in Turku a few days ago, but says it was not due to any injury.
"The energy was gone in Turku. I was just a little tired in the groin," he says.
