The client is the state-owned Swedish energy group Vattenfall, which will build the Juliusburg/Krukow solar park in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.
SSAB's shares are moving slightly higher in line with the rest of the stock market after the announcement.
The steel delivered is sold under the SSAB Zero brand and is produced using recycled scrap, fossil-free electricity and biogas. According to SSAB, it will result in 70 percent lower fossil carbon dioxide emissions than conventional steel.
"A total of over 9,000 steel profiles with a combined weight of 209 tons are being used," SSAB wrote about the order.
The Juliusburg/Krukow solar park will have a nominal capacity of 80 megawatts when completed.
