The incident occurred at a hotel bar in Gothenburg and, according to witnesses who spoke to SVT, Stefan Holm allegedly strangled Emil Persson. Emil Persson has reported the attack to police, and Stefan Holm has been charged with assault.
The conflict stems from an interview that Persson did with high jumper Patrik Sjöberg in 2018, in which he joked that Sjöberg wanted to murder Stefan Holm and his son.
Stefan Holm has been an expert commentator on Radiosporten since 2025 and has commented on this summer's European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, among other things.
"I have just been informed of this and want to talk to Stefan before I comment on it. It is of course not good that one of our experts ends up in such a situation, but we have not had time to make any decisions about how it will or will not affect us," says Radiosporten director Tobias Rosvall in a comment to Aftonbladet.
