According to Expressen, the new suspicion concerns a conspiracy to commit murder in Moscow, a crime that, according to court documents, was committed in December 2025.
It is not known what has triggered the new suspicion. However, the suspicion has been raised to the higher level of probable cause and is being investigated by the Security Service.
Prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist at the National Security Unit is leading the preliminary investigation and has requested that the man also be detained on the new criminal suspicion.
"It was aimed at a person in Sweden and the act, I claim, was partly planned in Moscow," he tells P4 Sörmland.
The man denies the crime.
