Shortly after 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Spotify announced via social media that things seem to be back on track again. This means that those who listen to music via the streaming service can breathe a sigh of relief.
For several hours during the afternoon, there were major problems with Spotify – via both the app and the website.
Tens of thousands of users around the world reported problems, according to the website Downdetector. After a while, Spotify went out on social media and denied that it was a hacker attack.
It was about several different problems. For some, the search function was malfunctioning. At 4 pm, Spotify announced to, among others, Expressen that the problem had been resolved.
Then it took a few more hours before the other disruptions had been resolved. For many, it was not possible to stream music at all, to open the app or access Spotify's website.
Spotify has over 675 million users.
