Viktor Gyökeres is reportedly furious with his club Sporting. The whole thing is supposed to be about the club wanting to break an agreement regarding a possible transfer fee.
According to Portuguese media reports, Gyökeres stayed with the club last year in order to leave the club cheaper in the summer, at a bid of 60 million euros (660 million kronor) plus 10 million euros (110 million kronor) in bonuses. The Portuguese are now said to be backing down from this solution. These reports are now being met by Sporting's chairman Frederico Varandas.
Threats, blackmail and insults do not work on me, says Varandas to A Bola and continues:
The agent is spreading false information in the press. Therefore, I want to clarify one thing: Sporting has common sense and will keep its word. Gyökeres scored 63 goals and ten assists. It's a fantastic performance. He is certainly one of the best players who have ever played on Portuguese pitches. Sporting will not demand the entire buyout clause.
Furthermore, the chairman also states that no official bids have yet been received on the Swede.
The Swedish striker scored 39 league goals last season.
