Former US President Bill Clinton is featured in several places in the latest documents released regarding the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Clinton's spokesperson states that the former president was unaware of Epstein's crimes, and had ended his relationship with Epstein before they came to light, reports CNN.

In one photo, Bill Clinton is seen in a hot tub with another person who is masked with a black square. In other photos, he is seen posing with Jeffrey Epstein himself as well as artists Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Mick Jagger.

Clinton's spokesperson Angel Ureña writes in a post on X that there are two types of people connected to Epstein.

"The first group knew nothing and broke up with Epstein before his crimes came to light. The second group continued their relationships with him after. We are in the first," writes Ureña.

He further accuses the Trump administration of "protecting itself."

"The White House didn't hide these files for months and then release them late on a Friday to protect Bill Clinton. This is about protecting themselves from what's coming, or from what they're trying to hide forever."

During last year's election campaign, US President Donald Trump, who once associated with Jeffrey Epstein, said he was prepared to release all of the Epstein documents. But when his administration took office, it worked hard to prevent that – at least until political pressure became too great.

The Ministry of Justice stated late on Friday that not all documents could be made public, but that further publications will take place before the New Year.
