A sperm whale has been found stranded in Ålbæk Bugt in northern Jutland. The last time a sperm whale stranded in Denmark was in 2016.

The unusual incident has led to a large crowd gathering to see the whale, which is about 30 meters out in the water. The rush to see the whale has led to traffic disruptions as many people have parked their cars on the road, Danish TV2 reports.

The dead whale measures 13.7 meters. Since the cause of death is unknown, the Swedish Nature Agency, together with the Maritime and Fisheries Museum, is working on a plan for how to move it and perform an autopsy.
