Spanish inflation hits highest level since 2023 as August rate rises to 4.5%

It is the highest inflation in the eurozone's fourth-largest economy since 2023.

Analysts had on average expected a rise to 4.6 percent.

Compared with the previous month, prices for Spanish consumers rose 0.6 percent in August, against the expected increase of 0.8 percent.
