The Spanish Federation has entered into an agreement with a fertility clinic where female national team players, referees and federation employees can freeze their eggs so that they do not have to take long breaks from their careers to give birth.
On its website, the RFEF writes that it has long been at the forefront of work-life balance policies. Players have been able to be with their families during championships. For the World Cup this summer, this was extended to include players in the men's national team.
National team stars Olga Carmona and Patri Guijarro say in the statement:
"We are very happy about the presentation of this agreement that allows us to freely choose how we want to become mothers."
