Spain's public service company RTVE is requesting a "debate" regarding Israel's participation in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, due to "concern" over the situation in Gaza.
RTVE has sent a letter to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which administers the event, "with a request for a debate about the Israeli public television's (KAN) participation" in the contest, says the public service company in a statement.
Israel's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest has been disputed since the war in Gaza began and last year's contest was marked by protests against the country's participation.
