During June, July and August, a total of 61 days with heatwaves were recorded, according to the report, which refers to mainland Spain.
The average temperature during the three summer months was 24.5 degrees, which, according to Aemet, is 0.3 degrees higher than the previous highest record from 2025.
It is also 2.4 degrees higher than the 1991-2020 reference period.
