The funeral took place in Navahermosa, in the Toledo region of central Spain, where Jesús de Miguel's parents are from.
Luis de la Fuente told reporters he wanted to offer his condolences.
“It is the best way to show that the football family is united: by warmly embracing all his loved ones,” said Spain's World Cup-winning coach.
Tenerife player Jesús de Miguel suffered a cardiac arrest after colliding with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono in a Spanish second-division match on Monday night. De Miguel's condition was initially described as “stable but serious”, but on Tuesday morning it was announced that he had died, aged 30.
