The idea is that the facility will be able to handle thousands of launches of the Starship spacecraft annually.
The space company, of which Elon Musk is CEO, has set its sights on the US state of Louisiana for the project - and if all goes according to plan, construction will begin at the end of next year.
“Starbase Louisiana will ultimately have over a dozen launch towers, enabling more than 30 Starship flights per day and making it the largest launch site on Earth,” Musk writes on X.
