The US government is reviewing the contracts to the space company Space X after the quarrels between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump – but most of them are considered too important to be terminated, reports The Wall Street Journal with reference to sources.

The review was intended to identify potential "waste" of tax funds in the multi-billion agreements that the company has with the Trump administration.

But according to an initial assessment, most of the contracts with Musk's company Space X are far too important for the Department of Defense and the space agency Nasa, according to the anonymous sources, who, according to the newspaper, have insight into the review. The company's dominance in rocket launches and satellite internet is reported to be significant.

The review was made after President Donald Trump aired the possibility of breaking ties with the former presidential adviser Musk's company, after the two had become enemies.

A civil servant in the White House states to the newspaper that the review of government contracts against a number of companies is ongoing.
