A half-tonne spacecraft from the Soviet era is expected to crash on Earth next week. The spacecraft Kosmos 482 was supposed to land on the planet Venus in the 1970s. Instead, it got stuck in orbit around the Earth after malfunctioning.
But exactly where the 500-kilogram metal will land is hard to predict – as is how much will survive re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere.
The spacecraft is likely to crash on Earth at a speed of around 242 kilometres per hour.
