Lee Jae-Myung has already taken over operational control of the country's armed forces on the day after the vote. He urges the country's top commanders to maintain "readiness" in the event of provocations from North Korea, but says he is ready for dialogue.
We will heal the wounds of division and war and create a future of peace and prosperity, he says.
No matter how costly it becomes, peace is better than war.
