South Korea's KOSPI hits new record high as many Asian exchanges remain closed for the holiday

South Korea's KOSPI hits a new record high while many stock exchanges across Asia remain closed for the holiday.

The record-setting Kospi is up 1.4 percent in early Friday trading.

However, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong is up even more, rising 2.1 percent.

Stock markets in Japan and China are closed for public holidays.
