Kim Keon-Hee was sentenced in January to 20 months in prison for bribery, including receiving luxury gifts such as a Chanel bag and a diamond necklace.

The prison sentence has been increased after the Court of Appeal found her guilty of market manipulation. She must also pay a fine of 50 million won, equivalent to just over 314,000 kronor.

The 53-year-old Kim is married to South Korea's former president, Yoon Suk-Yeol, who was sentenced in February to life in prison for rebellion over the martial law he imposed in 2024. Yoon has appealed the sentence.
