A South Korean court has ruled that Kwon must pay his former wife the equivalent of 14.4 billion kronor as part of the divorce, a record amount in South Korean divorce cases.
Kwon founded Smilegate in 2002, and the company has since become one of the country's most successful gaming companies.
His wife, surnamed Lee, argued that she contributed to the company's development. Smilegate is behind popular games such as “Crossfire” and “Lost Ark.”
