South Korea rules out military role in US Middle East war as Lee backs Trump-Kim talks

Trump wants dialogue and I also urge President Trump to engage in dialogue, says Lee.

The US president has expressed hopes for a new meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

I can't say for sure how likely it is (that it will happen), but it is also clear that we must do what we can to make it a reality.

Trump has scaled back military exercises with ally South Korea and spoken increasingly positively about North Korea's leader - at a time when he is trying to get South Korea to assist the US in the Middle East. That will not happen, according to Lee Jae-Myung:

We will not send any forces or deploy military resources in that way.
