The Korean Football Association has been criticised for the appointment of national team captain Hong Myung-Bo in 2024, but scrutiny has intensified since the team exited in the group stage of this summer's World Cup.
On Thursday, a raid was carried out at the Football Association's premises in an investigation into the events surrounding Hong's appointment.
Hong resigned in June after South Korea was eliminated from the World Cup.
President Lee Jae-Myung has blamed the failure on “incompetent people” who were promoted to senior positions.
