South Korea goalkeeper Kim Seung-Gyu missed daughter's birth, says he was very sad

"I'm very sad that I couldn't be with my wife at the birth," he told reporters in Mexico.

He is preparing for the national team's World Cup opener in the Czech Republic on Friday night, local time in Sweden, and hopes to make it up to his firstborn daughter for the loss.

"I want to come home with some nice results from here as a present," said the 35-year-old.
