Artist Salif Keita from Mali was due to perform at a South African festival in September but has cancelled due to reports of xenophobic violence against African migrants, SVT reports.
When South African star Tyla was scheduled to perform in Lagos, Nigeria, critics protested on social media, calling for a boycott of the South African artist over the situation of immigrants in South Africa.
Tyla has now cancelled her concert, but has not confirmed that the protests prompted her to make that decision.
