First a loss, then a draw - and now a victory. South Africa seems to have picked up the pace in the World Cup, and last night they beat the favorites, South Korea.

The only goal of the match came in the 63rd minute and was scored by Thapelo Maseko.

"We scored that goal, and it was followed by 20 minutes of stressful waiting for the game to end," said South Africa's national team captain Hugo Broos after the match.

This is the team's first time playing in the World Cup since their home tournament in 2010. Never before has the country advanced from the group stage. They will now face host nation Canada in the round of 16. The match will be played on Sunday.

"We are through to the second round. It's historic," said Hugo Broos.

As a result, South Korea will be third in Group A.
