According to several of CNN's sources, approximately 80 percent of the US's THAAD missiles were used during the Iran war. The missile system, which is used to shoot down enemy missiles, has been used extensively during the Iran war to protect American bases in the Middle East, among other things.
On Tuesday, Reuters reported that two other American missile systems, ATACMS and PrSM, are essentially depleted.
The US government has repeatedly denied that the US military is running out of missiles.
"The United States military is the most powerful in the world and has everything it takes to conduct operations at the time and place of the president's choosing," Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement to CNN.
