The force, which, according to the newspaper, would likely include infantry and armored vehicles, is said to give President Donald Trump more "military options" if sent to the region.
The US is already estimated to have around 50,000 soldiers in the area, and an additional 5,000 Marines were recently ordered to the Middle East.
It is unclear where in the region the 10,000 soldiers would be stationed.
