Trump has previously said that he will ensure the war ends "within 24 hours" from the time he takes office as president. But now it seems that they are opening up to the possibility that it may take longer.
According to two European officials who the newspaper has spoken to, talks with Trump's staff over the past few weeks have revealed that there is still no plan for how the war will end.
Earlier in the week, Trump suggested that it would be a more realistic goal to end the war within six months.
And on Wednesday, his special envoy for the Ukraine war, Keith Kellogg, told Fox News that they are aiming to end it "within 100 days".
The US support for Ukraine will continue according to Financial Times sources after Trump takes office as president on January 20.
