The Trump administration is reviewing its tariffs of up to 50 percent on steel and aluminum, several media outlets report, citing sources.

According to the Financial Times, this involves exemptions for certain products and suspending work on expanding the list of products covered, and instead focusing on fees on imported goods that pose security threats.

According to the newspaper, there is a perception among decision-makers that certain tariffs are unnecessarily hitting consumers in the US by increasing prices on items such as pie pans and cans for food and drinks.

According to Bloomberg, the White House has communicated with companies about some possible adjustments, but there is no information about when or which goods are involved.
