Khamenei the Younger, whose father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed on the first day of the war, has not been seen in public since he was appointed the new supreme leader.
American and Israeli officials told The Washington Post that Mojtaba Khamenei is “injured, isolated and not responding to messages forwarded to him.”
On Saturday, Axios reported that U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies have information suggesting that Mojtaba Khamenei is alive, but that attempts by Iranian officials to meet personally with the leader have failed.
