Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirms that "there are currently no talks with Israel," during a trip to southern Lebanon, writes the Times of Israel.
The talks were supposed to be held in Rome in September, but are now reportedly being postponed until October.
Despite the date change, ambassadors from the two countries will meet in Washington next week to discuss “the continued implementation” of the framework agreement the parties reached in June.
The so-called trilateral framework includes the disarmament of the Iran-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah, a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon and the deployment of the Lebanese army in the region, initially in test areas called “pilot zones.”
