Both the United States and Iran have expressed positive views about a planned "declaration of intent" to end the war, American media reported on Wednesday.

According to sources spoken to by the news site Axios and the news agency Bloomberg, the "declaration of intent" consists of 14 points developed by the United States.

"I think it (the war) has a very good chance of ending, and if it doesn't end, we'll have to go back to bombing the crap out of them," US President Donald Trump told PBS on Wednesday.

However, Iranian pro-regime state media have described the American media reports as “false”, “exaggerated” and “unrealistic”.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Wednesday. The United States has repeatedly urged China to get Iran to agree.

According to Bloomberg, Chinese authorities have urged the country's largest banks not to lend money to five companies sanctioned by the United States because of their links to Iranian oil.
