Testing and certification company Intertek, whose shares were trading around £46.35 on Wednesday on the London Stock Exchange, has previously rejected offers of £51.50 and £54 per share from EQT.
The increased bid values Intertek at £8.3 billion, equivalent to SEK 104 billion.
An evaluation is underway, and it is not certain that EQT will proceed with a higher bid, according to the sources.
